Your four options

  1. Upgrade to Windows 11 for free if your PC qualifies and is activated. Here is how.
  2. Do a clean install of Windows 11 with a key.
  3. Replace the PC.
  4. Stay on Windows 10 for specific tasks, with care: keep backups, avoid unknown downloads and limit its use online.

Should you still buy a Windows 10 key?

Only if the PC cannot run Windows 11, or a program needs Windows 10. Otherwise choose Windows 11.
