Why KMS activators are dangerous
Activators promise free Windows or Office by faking a licence. They are one of the easiest ways to put unwanted software on a PC.
What KMS really is
A real Microsoft system for companies. An activator imitates that server on your own PC.
The main risks
- Malware: they come from unverified sources and often ask you to turn off your antivirus.
- No support: if activation breaks after an update, nobody will fix it.
- Not a licence: an activator does not give you the right to use the software.
Why antivirus reacts
Tools that change system files look like malware because that is how malware behaves.
If you already ran one
Scan the PC, change your passwords, and consider a clean installation.
What to do instead
Use a genuine key and the normal screen in Settings.
Is “Microsoft Activation Scripts” safe?
It is not a Microsoft product, and we advise against any activator.
