How to buy digital keys safely: a buyer’s checklist
A low price does not mean a key is bad, but the seller’s behaviour tells you a lot.
Check the seller
- Contact details and a working support address.
- A published refund policy.
- A clear description of edition and licence type.
Check the product
- Is it OEM or Retail?
- Which edition, for how many PCs?
- Does it activate online in the normal way?
Payment and delivery
Use a card or wallet with a secure page. Delivery by email is normal.
Warning signs
- A request to run an activator or to change your system clock.
- Remote access by a stranger.
- Keys from chats, with no receipt.
After you receive the key
Activate within the return period and save the order email.
Is it better to pay by card?
A card or wallet gives you more protection than a direct transfer.
