How to move Windows and Office to a new PC without losing the licence
Whether you can move a licence depends on its type.
Step 1: find your licence type
Run slmgr /dli. Retail can move. OEM stays with the PC.
Step 2: free the licence on the old PC
Run slmgr /upk, then slmgr /cpky.
Step 3: activate on the new PC
Enter the key in Settings. If it is refused, use phone activation.
Moving Office
Licences linked to an account can be reinstalled from your account page. Remove Office from the old PC first. Pro Plus keys are for one PC.
Moving your files
Use OneDrive or an external drive.
Can I use one key on two PCs?
No. One licence is for one PC at a time.
